Mission

From September 24th to the 26th, the faculty of University of North Carolina Asheville will lead a campus-wide symposium to commemorate the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Helene. Highlighting the themes of “Remembering, Rebuilding, and Reimagining,” the symposium will bring together members of UNC Asheville and the Asheville/Buncombe County area to share histories, stories, science, artworks, impact studies and more. The symposium aims to contribute to post-disaster research while honoring community resilience in the wake of tragedy.
